Is Execution a fair punishment for government officials who compromise the safety of their fellow countrymen?

Excuting the person will not stop curroption in China. You can kill as many curropt goverment officals as you want. If there no checks or balances in the goverment no punsihment will deter curroption from spreading. May the Chinese could setup a website, or a open committe on food and safety for the public to have input on the food requirements, and if offical is palm greased by food companies, and others a jail sentence will deter that quickly, and if committing excessive curroption than Chinese goverment could excute the guy, and gotta have it well defined to what is excessive curroption so they know if they step over the boundry the gallow is waiting for them.
