Can bugs cause you to get SICK?

well i have a diaper genie in my room and its full of poop diapers. i remember the last time we dumped out the diapers there were little maggot like bugs inside. now we haven't dumped the genie in 2 weeks and lately ive been getting a lot of mosquito like bugs in my room but smaller and ive been sick with a bad cold and migraines and a loss of appetite i get bite marks every night from these bugs and they itch! can these bugs becoming from the poop and are they making me sick like this?
