In the book lord of the flies what are ways in which jack tries to undermine ralph?
jack denies the significance of the signal fire, becomes obsessed with hunting as opposed to trying to get rescued, separates his choir boys from the rest of the group (because they all follow jack as their leader), and makes himself ruler of a separate congregation of survivors devoted to having fun. Jack does these things because of his jealousy over loosing to ralph for the position as leader. Therefore, throughout the story he tries to get the other children to his side, so that he has more authority.
