How is volume not conserved?
Need help for a lab report in science. We mixed 20mL pebbles and 20mL sand, and as you should all know, the volume is not 40mL, instead it is around 37mL. So my question is, is the volume of the pebbles and sand combined conserved or not conserved, why? Please and thank you! (:
